Keinen. Sie sind teilweise genauso kostenlos. Es erweitert allerdings die Vielfalt, da einige Autoren lieber PD oder FW schreiben als GPL-Software.

Gerade bei der Freeware gibt es auch einige mit Quellcode, wo der ursprüngliche Autor nichts dagegen hat, sich aber nicht mit den Lizenzen weit genug beschäftigen will, um sie explizit unter die MIT/BSD-Lizenz zu stellen.

Wobei die Änderbakleit bei den meisten Anwendungsfällen eh' überschätzt wird. Auch GPL- oder BSD-Software wird nur von einigen wenigen wirklich im Quelltext geändert.
